You can connect Strum to an AI app: Claude, ChatGPT or any other app that supports MCP. Then you can ask about your portfolios, budget, goals and investments in plain language.
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that AI apps use to connect to external data.
How to connect
- In your AI app, open the connector or MCP settings and add a remote server.
- Name the connector Strum and paste the address:
https://api.strum.capital/mcp/ - Sign in to Strum, review the access request and allow the connection.
Don't paste passwords or tokens into the AI chat. Strum handles authorization itself.
In Claude: Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector. In ChatGPT, custom MCP apps depend on your plan and your workspace policies.
Detailed instructions are on the strum.capital/features/mcp/ page.
What the AI can see
- portfolios, positions, allocation, returns, risk and dividends;
- budget, cash accounts, income and expenses;
- how your net worth changes over time;
- financial goals;
- watchlists;
- import history.
Example queries
- "Show my portfolios and briefly sum up their current value."
- "Compare my current portfolio structure with my target template."
- "How much did I spend on gifts in June?"
- "Analyze my portfolio's return and risk over the last year."
The more precisely you name the portfolio, period and currency, the more accurate the answer will be.
Security
- Read-only. The AI can't create, change or delete data, and it has no access to trading.
- No password is shared. Authorization happens in Strum, not in the chat with the AI.
- Transparency. The connection date and the AI's most recent requests are visible in settings.
How to disconnect
Open your profile (the avatar in the top-right corner) → "AI apps (MCP)" and click "Disconnect". Strum blocks that app's access right away. To connect it again, you have to approve access again.
