A benchmark is a market index you compare your portfolio against. It shows whether you're beating the market.
How to compare
- Open Portfolios → Dashboard.
- On the portfolio chart, switch from "Value" to "Performance".
- Click the chart settings icon and choose an index in the "Benchmark" field.
Strum overlays the index's cumulative return on your portfolio's return for the same period.
In the same place, you can also add individual assets to compare and show your trades on the chart.

What to compare
For comparing with an index, asset return works best: it doesn't depend on when you put money in.
