- Find the asset by ticker, name or ISIN.
- Enter the amount (number of units), the price per unit and the fee. Below the price field, Strum suggests the latest market price.
- Click "Add transaction".
To add the next trade right away, click "Save and add more".
Selling
You can only sell an asset that's already in the portfolio. That's why, when you sell, the asset field shows only your positions.
Cash
You can link a trade to the portfolio's cash account. Then a buy reduces the account balance, and a sell increases it. To do this, turn on "Update cash balance" and choose the account.
If the account currency differs from the asset currency, enter the exchange rate.
For details, see "The cash account in a trade and “Update cash balance”".
Several trades at once
At the top of the form, switch to "Multiple entry" to add several trades at once.
The asset isn't in search
- If the asset trades on an exchange, choose "Request new asset" in the search.
- If the asset isn't exchange-traded (an apartment, a deposit, a stake in a business), choose "Add custom asset".
For details, see "I can't find an asset" and "Custom assets".
